The strides that we make and the future we’re investing in means nothing without the tireless work that our volunteers do to bring Inclusive Diversity to EllisDon. We recognize that creating a workplace culture that values and respects individual differences requires a collective effort, and we are committed to working together towards this vision.

In honour of International Volunteer Day, we take a moment to express our endless gratitude for the work our volunteers do in running our four employee-led Inclusive Diversity Groups:

PEACE: Advocating for LGBTQ2S+ allyship and safe spaces.
VIBE: Driving actions to combat anti-Black racism and foster belonging.
Together: Advancing gender equality and empowering everyone to thrive.

EllisDon employees lead the company’s Inclusive Diversity efforts. Each group creates its own governance structure and defines its objectives to have the most impact on the people they represent and serve.

ALLiED: All Inclusive at EllisDon

The focus of ALLiED is awareness, education, inclusion, and celebration of all forms of diversity﹘including factors such as religion, cultural background, race, disability, neurotype, socioeconomic status etc. and fighting against “isms” and attitudes that breed intolerance. Inclusion equips us to flourish, and this passionate group of volunteers is helping us to build a safe and welcoming work environment throughout EllisDon, while impacting the industry as well.

PEACE: Proud Employees for Allyship, Community, and Education

The members of PEACE are enthusiastic about supporting LGBTQ2S+ employees and those in our industry who are in need of a safe place. They are guided their values to provide a safe environment for members to thrive, to share and receive support and resources, to create a network within the community, and bridge the gap to create a more understanding, welcoming and inclusive workplace for LGBTQ2S+ members.

EllisDon VIBE: Anti-Black Racism

VIBE is EllisDon's employee-led leadership group that is focused on initiating concrete actions to combat anti-Black racism with actions that challenge the status quo and push us towards how we want the world to be, not just how it is. These actions help us all to feel like we belong, and actions that allow us to continue having productive conversations.

Together: Gender Equality & Human Empowerment

Together is not just about getting more women in the industry, it is about achieving a work environment where all employees—regardless of their gender—can be themselves, raise concerns and innovate without fear of failure or exclusion. It is about empowering individuals to feel comfortable calling out unacceptable behaviour, and to feel safe to be their authentic selves, particularly those whose gender identity or expression is underrepresented.
