EllisDon Extends Partnership with Project Forest

For every new hire, a tree is planted.

EllisDon is proud to continue our partnership with Project Forest, a non-profit dedicated to rewilding local landscapes and naturally capturing carbon. The initiative aims to transition non-productive agricultural lands, near Calgary, Alberta, back into native forests. They partner with experts and Indigenous communities to plant the correct seed and species for the area.

Together, EllisDon and Project Forest are supporting the Siksika Nation Community, in a transformative project to restore natural infrastructure and combat the effects of climate change.

OurContribution Includes:

  • 130,760 trees and shrubs have been planted, with the support of other generous donors.
  • An increased pledge to plant 2,000 trees in 2025.
  • 27.8km of new shelterbelts has been created in agriculture and residential areas.
  • Over the next four years, an additional 800,000 seedlings will help improve the area’s resilience to climate change.

As a leader in sustainable construction, EllisDon’s partnership with Project Forest is a meaningful way of intertwining our sustainability goals with the exciting growth of our organization. Planting a tree and watching it grow is both symbolic of how we nurture our EllisDon family, and our commitment to environmental stewardship.

We’re excited to extend our partnership into 2025 and look forward to planting our trees when the time is right!
